How can I get a COVID test?

Health Services

Your health is something to take seriously! If you are feeling a little "under the weather" help is close by! The Heath Clinic is located on the second floor of the Inman Student & Community Center.

Available Services:

  • Exams by the nurse practitioner for acute, chronic and primary health care needs
  • Prescriptions, order x-rays, blood tests and other laboratory testing
  • In clinic tests: rapid strep, blood sugar, pregnancy, urine, TB tests
  • Starter doses of over-the-counter medications
  • Administration of allergy injections

Walk-in Hours

  • Walk-in appointments available Monday-Friday: 8:30 am-11:30 am & 1:00 pm-3:30 pm

    Student Health Clinic hours are 8-12, 12:30-4 Monday-Friday unless otherwise noted by campus email. You may email healthservices@36837a.com or login to your Blue Ocean account to make an appointment online during clinic hours.

Health Forms and Student Insurance

*All New and Transfer Students must complete General Health information.  To complete the General Health portion on your Enrollment Checklist you must upload the following information into your Medicat Student Portal (Log in with your student Eaglemail & password).

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, 45 C.F.R. parts 160 and 164 (HIPAA) provides for the confidentiality of medical records. This includes any medical information from our Director of Student Health Services. Any student can fill out the HIPAA Privacy Authorization Form, giving our director permission to speak with the person(s) named on the form. Any questions about this form or other health-related issues can be directed to the Director of Student Health Services.

Required Health Forms: All students need to complete the Health History Form and Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire in their Medicat Student Portal.

Required Immunizations: Central Methodist University students are required to show proof of:

  • two measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccines (required of ALL students) or antibody titer showing immunity to measles, mumps, AND rubella;
  • a meningococcal vaccine after age 16 years (ACWY/MCV 4; required of students living on campus/in CMU-owned housing);
  • a tetanus (Td/Tdap) within the past 10 years (required of ALL students);
  • and a tuberculosis screening questionnaire completed (in Medicat Portal)
    • TB Questionnaire required to be completed by ALL students
    • TB testing required for those that are considered high-risk.
    • If student has had BCG vaccine, a Quantiferon Gold TB Plus is REQUIRED instead of a skin PPD test.
  • Recommended immunizations for all students:
    • Polio
    • Hepatitis A&B
    • Influenza
    • Varicella
    • COVID-19
    • Meningococcal B (Trumenba or Bexsero)
    • HPV

You must upload your immunization documents in the Medicat Student Portal. If you experience issues uploading your immunization documents, you may email them to healthservices@36837a.com. Alternatively, you may hand deliver your immunization documents to the Central Methodist University Student Health Center.

Required Student Insurance: CMU requires all resident students and athletes to carry primary medical coverage. Athletes will need to show proof of coverage for participation in all practices and contests. Athletic claims should be coordinated with the Athletic Training office at 660-248-6381.

Online Appointments: Students can set up their own appointments in the Medicat Student Portal for any day in the future by following these instructions. Same-day, walk-in appointments are also available 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-3:30 p.m. in the clinic.
